How to Maintain a
Social Life While Attending an Online College
Online college definitely has its perks, but studying without a college campus can be lonely. You may feel like you’re missing out on the "college experience," but it doesn’t have to be that way. You can have a great time, make lifelong friends,
and still get your
studies done while working on your online degree.
One of the best ways to connect with your classmates
and other
students is through study groups, especially if the other
students in your class are local. Post a note on your class message board
and plan a time to get together
and study before an exam so that you can meet
and connect with other classmates. Even if your classmates aren’t local, you can find other online
students in your area that are working on similar classes
and study with each other.
You may be attending a brick
and mortar school that offers an online component. If this is true for you, you really should take time to be a part of school events, particularly if campus isn’t far from you. Even though you may not be there every day during the week, stopping by for fun every month or so can really help you feel connected to your school. Check out sporting events, music department concerts, plays,
and festivals to join in on the fun.
