This is an act of deliberately discriminating people based on social status, color of skin, traditions, social behavior and even attitude. You will experience racism when someone is telling you that you cannot do something or if you are being insulted because of your physical attributes or the country where you came from.

Racism as a global problem in the modern world”

Racism does not need any explanation or an analysis. Its ineradicable slogans apply as the tide that at any moment could submerge society. The existence of racism does not require explanation. This categorical assertion is as absolute as indemonstrable means that racism has all the signs of axioms. Racism is available to all layers of society, though it is not accepted by everyone. The notion of racism is much more effective and the more dynamic than it seems.

Racism

There is also lots of prejudice amongst our communities. Just because of how a person looks makes another person think they are lower than them and cannot compare to them, completely destroying their individual identity causing communities to separate.

Is Racism Wrong?

Is Racism Wrong? In Western countries the businesses, the media and the education system go to great lengths to remove ‘racism’ from their infrastructure, and all traces of material that might be construed as racist from their brochures, presentations and classes. It seems that to be tarred with the word constitutes such an ugly branding that people’s main motivation for avoiding it has become fear of condemnation, rather than an active quest for moral justice.

Confronting environmental Racism in the 21 Century essay
In recent years, grassroots multiracial organizations have sprung up to file lawsuits and fight the polluters. Should anyone care about environmental racism? The environmental movement has traditionally been racist or at least, because of the environmentalist's carelessness to racial issues, environmental damage has unjustly fallen upon the shoulders of people of color.

Consider toxic dumping in its present form. Fifty-three out of fifty-four California toxic waste sights are located in communities dominated by people of color (p.51). Even when income is a large factor, communities of color are much more likely to be burdened with waste than white communities (p.64). While poor white communities don't get dumped on; poor African American, Chicano or Native American ones do. The traditional explanation for this phenomenon is to blame this location bias on alleged racist motives within corporations such as Romic, a hazardous waste facility currently under fire in East Palo Alto (57).

Ideologically, the last third of the nineteenth century was characterized by a syndrome of laissez-faire capitalism in the economic sphere, of jingoism and imperialism in foreign relations, and of racial and ethnic intolerance in the domestic social sphere. The writings of Theodore Roosevelt and of other American racists like Madison Grant and Charles Carrol epitomize this era which could be termed the Golden Age of Racism. Social Darwinism and economic liberalism were fused to rationalize the survival of the wealthiest in the industrial jungle and to give racism the accolade of Science. Negroes were not the sole victims, of course. Anti-Oriental agitation was rampant on the West Coast; anti-Semitism and anti-Catholic pogroms swept the large cities of the East; the Know-Nothings rivaled in xenophobia and ethnocentrism with the Ku Klux Klan, but Negroes, being the largest and most visible group, bore the brunt of the new competitive form of prejudice that was flourishing.

By the 1930s a few judicial decisions began to nibble at the edifice of racial segregation, and both the Great Depression and the New Deal policies exercised a certain leveling effect between poor whites and poor Negroes. Migration outside the South continued, if only in search of nondiscriminatory relief. However, it took World War II to unleash forces powerful enough to undermine the racial status quo. Negro migration to the large industrial centers of the North, the Great Lakes, and as far as the West Coast greatly accelerated during the war and continued thereafter. By 1960 only 61 per cent of Negroes were living in the South and only 21 per cent of the southern population were Negro. More servicemen than ever before fought and lived abroad, albeit in a Jim Crow army, and came in contact with societies in which racial bigotry did not exist. The strong incentive not to waste manpower motivated the establishment of Fair Employment Practices Commissions and opened up new occupational opportunities for Negroes. Racism, of course, was far from dead, as shown by the wartime internment of United States citizens of Japanese descent condoned by Franklin D. Roosevelt.
