Example History Essay: Trade unions
The history of the trade union can be seen to have begun in the Industrial Revolution, where the rise of factories and the deskilling of labour led to workers seeking security through collective bargaining agreements. Writing To Weave The Spell

Writing To Weave The Spell
Writing To Weave The Spell
As you may know, I’m a great fan of the works of the Canadian author, Robertson Davies. So, when I’m looking for inspiration and ideas, I turn to his articles on writing. I came across a speech he gave in 1990 for the Tanner Lectures in New Haven, Connecticut. One is entitled simply Writing, the other Reading.

What makes a novel good or even really great, so that it will be read one hundred years from now [or more]? What takes a novel out of its own time, so to speak, and become universal?

I have to quote Davies from his speech where he talks of an essential quality he calls

shamanstvo.

To weave the spell, the writer must have within him something comparable to the silk spinning and web-casting gift of a spider; he must not only have something to say, some story to tell, or some wisdom to impart, but he must have a characteristic way of doing it which entraps and holds still his prey, by which I mean his reader.

College Radio: Why It’s So Good
If you think music doesn’t get any better than American Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest, then you may want to bypass this entry. However, if you believe most of the best music out there simply doesn’t get the kind of radio airplay it deserves, you may want to keep reading.

College radio stations have traditionally gathered small audiences that generally include university students, faculty and staff, and a small number of committed fans outside the university who are bored with radio as usual. College radio is a good place to pick up the newest noise from more under-the-radar artists and bands such as the Dirty Projectors, She & Him, Animal Collective and Ratatat. Haven’t heard of them? Well, sometimes that’s the point. Many of us get so used to listening to the same music over and over on loops that we can get tricked into thinking that’s all that’s out there. College radio proves over and over that good music doesn’t have to be cut-and-paste and tailored for the masses.

Example English Literature Essay: Ways in Which Toni Morrison Portrays Negative Representations of her Female Characters
Toni Morrison is considered to be one of the most popular and most important authors of the 20th Century, especially considering that much of her literary work has actively challenged the stereotypes that have been imposed on African American women throughout history. The characters in her novels are beautifully crafted in order to allow the reader to explore their journeys and the way in which they are presented, thus questioning the perspective of history that has been created.

Personal Theory on Personality

Personal Theory on PersonalityPersonality is a hard thing to understand and who will understand it will control the world. In this research I want to analyze two theories and show how they are close to my own theory of personality. The first theory is based on the works of Karl Gustav Jung. Like Freud he devoted himself to the study of dynamic unrealized drawings on a human behavior and experience. But his learning was a little different from Freud’s.
