Magnificence

The descriptions of the mother and Vicente are contrastive not only against each other but also against stereotypes of their genders. The story opens with Vicente being described as “so gentle, so kind,” a phrase usually used for women. Vicente is a dark “little” man whose “voice [was] soft [and] manner slow.” On the other hand, the mother is a “gloating” mother whose “eyes [held] pride.” She is barely described at the start, as absent as the father except for short delivered lines, which are also in a tone not in sync with stereotype mothers. Only later is the mother completely revealed: a “tall woman” who spoke in a voice “very low, very heavy” and with an “awful timbre.” The contrast emphasizes the darkness of Vicente and the mother’s magnificence.

Process

Before I could begin, I had to ask my mother the recipe. She instructed apprentices in detail to me. I wish I could make a good dish for whole my family when I have time to return home. I am sure that my mother will be very happy and proud of me. Eventually, I went to the supermarket to buy the catfish and indispensable spices. I tried to choose a stout one. I hope that I will make a juicy and tasty.

The Mother Is Crucial In Preschool Teaching Preschool teaching is as important as a classroom. Any one who teaches is a teacher and anyone who learns is a learner. It is a fact that we learn throughout our life and so it is not just the classroom where we get knowledge. The Wretch/Frankenstein

Everyone Needs a Family, Including The Wretch
In Mary Shelly's Frankenstein, families are a very important part of the structure of the book. Frankenstein's family is critical because the reason why the wretch was created lies within the family. Almost every family mentioned in the novel was either incomplete or dysfunctional.

Freud's notion of the absence of time in the unconscious, for example, and Proust's reflection that "a single minute released from the chronological order of time has recreated in us the human being similarly released" lead to the same conclusion: the choice of individual reaction to events cannot be a function of chance but must depend upon past experience, on the memory of some analogous event. Although the past as object is gone, it remains as memory, and in that form is decisive for thought and action; events must be lifted from the scheme of temporal succession in order to be understood.

The Boat

In The Boat by Alistair Macleod the mother and father are presented as opposites. The mother is the character trying to keep the tradition alive, whereas the father is the character who is looking forward to the changes. The mother does not want any tourists in her town and does not want her family to go out and spend time with the people who do not come from the village. The father was encouraging the change to happen, and he was kind enough to take the tourists out for a ride on his boat.
